Opportunity: ESG Data & Tech Strategist (REMOTE)
Role Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced data science and ESG tech (Software Product) strategic advisor to join our team on a project-by-project basis. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting ESG software and fintech companies in enhancing the sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) robustness of their products and services. You may also help users of the products of ESG software and fintech companies in selecting and optimizing sustainability tech use in the context of organization strategy and operations. You will work closely with our clients to analyze, strategize, and implement ESG-related improvements, ensuring their offerings align with sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. ESG Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' software and fintech products to identify ESG strengths and weaknesses.
- Utilize industry-specific ESG frameworks and metrics to evaluate environmental, social, and governance aspects.
2. Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with clients to develop tailored ESG strategies that align with their business objectives and sustainability goals.
- Provide guidance on incorporating ESG principles into product roadmaps and development plans.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with evolving ESG regulations and guidelines, ensuring clients' products meet compliance standards, especially but not only in EU, US and globally.
- Assist in preparing reports and disclosures required by regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, customers, and partners, to communicate ESG progress and initiatives.
- Foster transparency and trust by facilitating ESG-related communication.
5. Impact Measurement:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the impact of ESG initiatives on clients' products.
- Monitor progress and provide regular reports on ESG performance.
6. Sustainable Innovation:
- Research emerging ESG trends and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation within clients' product portfolios.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate sustainable features and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science / IT and environmental science, sustainability, finance, or a related field.
- At least 5-10 years experience with data science and environmental/green/sustainability affairs. Total minimum professional experience at mid to senior level: 15 years
- Proven experience in ESG analysis, data use, strategy development, or sustainability consulting.
- Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of ESG issues, trends, and their impact on financial services and software industries, and/or users of those industries' products.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate ESG data into actionable insights.
- Project management skills to coordinate and execute ESG improvement initiatives.
